Welcome to Acceptance and Change Counselling Services
Hello,
I was born and raised in Poland and have called Canada home for over 30 years.
I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Furthermore, I hold the designation of Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, as well as the title of Counselling Therapist with the Alberta Counselling Therapist Association.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, from Yorkville University, NB and a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth from the University of Victoria, BC.
I have over 20 years of experience working in the mental health and addiction field across a range of settings, including intensive treatment programs, outpatient services, and inpatient care in both private and provincial systems. Earlier in my career, I worked extensively with children and adolescents, and for the past 15 years my focus has been on supporting adults facing mental health and addiction-related challenges.
My primary therapeutic approach is Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I have completed advanced DBT training through Behavioral Tech, the Linehan Training Institute, and I am currently pursuing certification as a Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). I also draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, and Motivational Interviewing to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals.
I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood, respected, and empowered. My goal is to help individuals build practical skills, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful change at a pace that feels right for them.
Enjoy a complimentary 30-minute initial consultation.
